Peter Obi Labels Sowore ‘Blackmailer-in-Chief’ Amid Escalating Feud

In a heated exchange on social media, former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has fired back at activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, branding him a “blackmailer-in-chief.” This comes after Sahara Reporters, a platform founded by Sowore, published claims alleging that Obi’s recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Rome was to discuss a ₦225 billion debt involving Fidelity Bank, which Obi once led.

Obi refuted these allegations, stating that his encounter with President Tinubu was brief and occurred during the inauguration mass of Pope Leo XIV at Saint Peter’s Basilica. He emphasized that the claims were “baseless, malicious, and entirely false,” asserting that he has never resorted to blackmail or threats to prove his worth.

This exchange has sparked a flurry of reactions on Nigerian Twitter, with hashtags like #BlackmailerInChief, #PeterObiSpeaks, and #SoworeVsObi trending nationwide.
