We Will Win at the End… Mad People” — Nnamdi Kanu Declares as He Arrives for Court Trial

Abuja, Nigeria — Amid tight security and a crowd of supporters and observers, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja today, May 22, 2025, for the continuation of his controversial trial.

Clad in his signature white attire, Kanu, with defiance in his voice, shouted to journalists and supporters:

“We will win at the end… mad people!”

His bold declaration sparked reactions both online and in the courtroom premises, with many interpreting it as a continued show of resistance against what IPOB members have long described as an “illegal and politically motivated” prosecution.

Kanu’s legal team insists the federal government has no constitutional basis to continue the trial, citing repeated violations of his fundamental human rights, especially his extraordinary rendition from Kenya and prolonged detention by the Department of State Services (DSS)
