Over 200 People Were K^lled in Yelewata, Benue State, Yet the Country Moves On Like Nothing Happened. Omo, Our Leaders Get Mind, I Swear to God.

A tragic attack happened in the early hours of June 14, 2025, in Yelewata village, located in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. Armed men, suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, invaded the village and opened fire on residents, including people living in an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp.

According to reports from human rights groups, more than 200 people were k^lled, and many others were injured. Homes were burned down, and several families were completely wiped out. Survivors say the attack started suddenly and lasted for hours without any help from security agencies.

This is not the first time Guma LGA has suffered this kind of violence. The area has faced several attacks in the past, mostly due to clashes between herders and farmers. Sadly, the victims are always innocent people who are simply trying to survive.

The Governor of Benue State has visited the community and promised to help the victims and increase security. However, many Nigerians are asking the same questions:

Why do these killings keep happening?

Where are the security forces when people need them the most?

What is the government doing to stop this crisis?

Benue State is known as the "food basket of the nation," but with these continued attacks, farming is becoming dangerous. If nothing is done, more lives will be lost and hunger will increase.
