Simon Ekpa group has unveiled their Autopilot currency with Simon Ekpa head on it

The alleged currency for the self-proclaimed United States of Biafra is indeed called "EJEMMA," which translates to "Ego Igwe" or Ancient Biafra Currency. According to the Biafra Political Action Committee, one EJEMMA is equivalent to one US dollar. Additionally, they have a cryptocurrency called USBT, which is pegged to Tether (USDT), a stablecoin tied to the US dollar's value.

It's worth noting that the introduction of EJEMMA as a currency is part of the Biafran separatist movement's efforts. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been a key figure in this movement. However, there's no clear indication that his face will be featured on the EJEMMA currency.

Some context about Nnamdi Kanu: He's currently facing trial and has had several run-ins with the law. In 2022, a court ordered the Federal Government to pay him N500m in damages for his illegal abduction and human rights abuse ¹.

As for the legitimacy of EJEMMA, it's essential to recognize that the United States of Biafra is not a recognized sovereign state, and its currency may not be widely accepted or used in everyday transactions. The World Bank has also denied any involvement in introducing a new Biafra currency, contrary to some reports.
