Umar Ganduje has resigned from his position as APC National Chairman after 1yr 10months, over health concerns

Ganduje is trending because Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has resigned from his position as APC National Chairman after 1yr 10months, over health concerns.

Some of his grassroots loyalists have reportedly gone back to Kano’s Kwankwaso’s NNPP.

But political analysts are suggesting Pres. Tinubu suspected betrayal and removed him ahead of the brewing coalition and alliance with the North.

Others believe Tinubu is making way for Kwankwaso into the fold. And perhaps, Ganduje is getting the VP slot as, Shettima looks very unlikely to return in 2027.

However, he remains the board chairman of FAAN — the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.

Mustapha Hamza Buhari Bakwana, a well-known grassroots mobilizer and trusted ally of Ganduje, reportedly resigned from his role as Aide to Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibril and returned to NNPP, pledging allegiance to Kwankwaso.

Ganduje was the former deputy governor of Kano state under Rabiu Kwankwaso from 1999–2003 and 2011–2015.

He became governor from 2015-2023, he did only one term courtesy of an issue with his benefactor, Kwankwaso.
